Teas & Gifts, A Cause for Tea’s New Store
We are proud to announce the launch of our online store, stocked with tea lovers’ accessories, loose leaf teas and gifts. We are especially excited to showcase a line of beautiful hand sewn aprons and linens, made with love by the hands of women in a place far away. We partner with these talented ladies to bring lovely gift items to consumers in the United States. By purchasing items from our online shop, you’re supporting a continual process of providing jobs and sustainability for women in poverty-stricken and underdeveloped places.
Literally living in a Nicaraguan land-fill, mothers and daughters in the Casa del Rey community have formed the Nicaragua Sewing Co-op. Because of your generous support, women of all ages and generations, whose job was to search through the massive landfill that surrounded their homes and community, are now empowered to employ their skills, talents, and creativity while learning a trade that equates to measurable good for their families.
They design and create these one-of-a-kind aprons and sell them to us. In turn, we feature them, along with many other fine and quality products, in our teashop at our tea parties and events. Each apron’s design is one-of-a-kind and created with joy, love, and hope. As we wear these aprons in our homes and kitchens, the sense of a connection with our friends in Nicaragua envelopes our spirit and give thanks for them, for family, for love. It’s true…where there’s tea there’s hope.
